Job Title: Full Stack Engineer (React, Nodejs, AWS) Location: Canada (REMOTE) Contract Duration: Long term Contract
POSITION SUMMARY- This posting is for a Full-Stack Software Engineer in the Product Platforms organization. In this role, the engineer will participate in all aspects of requirements gathering, design, development, and support of software products supporting Crop Science -- true cradle-to-grave ownership. Teams in our organization use Agile development methodologies.
Responsibilities include: • Direct interaction with business users and other technical teams • Collaboration with Product Management on product backlogs and roadmaps • Cradle-to-grave ownership of software products • Ownership of applications, supporting AWS infrastructure, test automation, and CI/CD pipelines
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to define and design new features, ensuring alignment with business goals. • Development: Build and maintain software applications using a range of technologies, focusing on performance and scalability. • Code Review: Participate in code reviews to provide constructive feedback and promote best practices among team members. • Support: Provide support for application issues, ensuring high performance and responsiveness. • Agile Participation: Engage actively in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. • Architecture Contribution: Assist in the design and architecture of systems, ensuring they meet current and future business needs. • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for code and processes.
Skill & Competency Requirements: • 3+ years of experience in full-stack software development for mid-level positions; 5+ years for expert-level positions. • Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks, including UI development in React and API development. • Familiarity with building APIs and microservices. • Knowledge of cloud services, with AWS preferred, and experience with cloud-based architectures. • Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in agile teams.
Preferences: • Experience in the agriculture or crop science industry. • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer).
