Heavy Duty Mechanic Location: Alberta (Central / Northern Projects) Company: Blackline Civil Position Type: Full-Time About the Role We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. You’ll be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and diesel-powered vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation. Key Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues Perform repairs on heavy-duty equipment (e.g., trucks, loaders, excavators) Conduct routine maintenance and preventative servicing Complete inspections and maintain accurate service records Ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards Work collaboratively with operators and supervisors Qualifications & Experience Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification (or equivalent experience) Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Experience with brands like CAT, Komatsu, John Deere (preferred) Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Valid driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 is an asset) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail What We’re Looking For Brings a mix of hands-on ability, judgment, and work ethic High accountability Shows up on time, stays productive Commitment to safety, quality, and getting the job done right What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Extended health and benefits package Opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding civil division Strong pipeline of work across Alberta
