About the Opportunity Reporting to the Senior Manager, Pest Control Services, the Technician, Integrated Pest Management implements treatment plans, performs pest inspections, and documents findings across a portfolio of residential properties. Using a science-based, prevention-first approach, the IPM Technician is critical in reducing pest activity through regular monitoring, education, and safe, effective pest control methods. The technician works closely with the IPM team, property staff, and residents to address pest issues promptly, ensure service quality, and support a healthy living environment. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of properties, with regular travel required to support on-site pest management needs within the assigned portfolio. How You Will Make An Impact? Apply pest control treatments following IPM principles, safety standards, and legislative requirements (e.g., Pesticides Act, Ontario Regulation 63/09, RentSafeTO, etc). Conduct thorough inspections of units, common areas, and building exteriors to identify signs of pest activity, structural vulnerabilities, and sanitation issues. Respond to service requests and work orders promptly and professionally, prioritizing based on urgency and risk level. Communicate with tenants, building staff, and the IPM team to explain treatment processes, provide educational information, and gather relevant information about pest issues. Collaborate with building maintenance and housekeeping teams to implement pest prevention recommendations (e.g., sealing entry points and improving sanitation). Monitor and maintain equipment, tools, and pesticide inventory to ensure they are in good repair and compliant with safety guidelines. Support the development of service reports, site summaries, and documentation of repeat infestations or complex cases. Participate in regular training sessions and safety meetings to maintain up-to-date knowledge of pest management techniques and legislation. Use handheld devices or software to log service details, findings, and actions in real-time. Follow all health and safety protocols, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of chemicals. What You Will Bring? Minimum 1-2 years of pest control or related experience in residential, commercial, or institutional settings preferred. Valid Provincial Pesticide Applicator Licence. Proven understanding of IPM principles, pest biology, and environmentally responsible control methods. Proven ability to identify pest activity, entry points, and conducive conditions during pest services. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to educate tenants and staff on pest prevention. Proficiency in using mobile applications or digital systems to log work and track service outcomes. Full valid driver's license with a clean record; must be able to travel between multiple work sites as needed. Where will you work & what to expect? Daily travel throughout the Greater Halifax Area, with potential travel to other regions across the province as needed. Available to be on call as part of emergency response. High sensitivity to timelines with moderate overtime required from time to time. What's in it for you?
