About This Role
The Application Engineer supports the data center business by designing, validating, and proposing power conversion equipment. The role acts as a technical interface between sales, customers, consultants, and internal engineering teams, ensuring solutions are technically sound, compliant with standards, and aligned with customer requirements.
Primary focus areas include UPS systems, Static Transfer Switches (STS), Power Distribution Units (PDU), and Medium/Low Voltage Transformers used in mission-critical data center environments.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Develop complete technical proposals for data center projects, including:
- UPS architectures.
- STS configurations.
- PDU designs.
Support Sales teams during:
- RFIs, RFPs, and tender responses.
- Technical clarifications with customers, consultants, EPCs, and end users.
Participate in technical meetings and design reviews with:
- Data center operators.
- Engineering firms.
- Colocation providers and hyperscalers.
Act as a technical bridge between:
- Sales.
- Product Management.
- R&D.
- Manufacturing.
- Service.
Essential Qualifications, Experienced Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in product management, OEM partnerships, and product commercialization.
- 3-5 years’ experience in Data Center systems and power controls.
- Experience in market analysis, product development, and technical sales support.
- Deep knowledge of Low Voltage distribution systems, power controls, and related hardware.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Compensation range: $110,000 - $120,000 CAD
