Job Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Operations & Facilities, as the Maintenance Worker you are responsible for ensuring the maintenance needs assigned properties are met in an effective and efficient manner.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Completing thorough daily inspections of properties, and addressing repairs or concerns in a timely manner.
• Handling tenant requests, including proper follow-up and maintenance checklists.
• Ensuring tenants’ needs are accommodated with excellent customer service in accordance with corporate quality standards and procedures.
• Conducting maintenance related duties, using all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Overseeing and assisting external contractors on site as required.
• Ensuring cleanliness, maintenance and continuous improvement of properties interior and exterior, maintained to a high standard, including emptying litter receptacles and ashtrays, and removing snow or ice as required.
• Providing on-call support in case of emergencies.

Essential Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Access to a reliable vehicle, class 5 driver’s licence and satisfactory verification of drivers abstract.
• Minimum 1 year of related maintenance experience, preferably in commercial building operations.
• Comfortable using tools and equipment.
• Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.

Working Conditions

You primarily work on site during regular business hours. Evenings and/or weekends may occasionally be required as emergencies may arise. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Overtime may occasionally be required.
