About the role
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Assemble wood products such as window sashes, doors, boxes, pallets, ladders and barrels. Make minor adjustments and repairs to wood products. Pack items for shipping and distribution. Install hardware such as knobs and hinges. Inspect wood products for conformance to quality standards. Mark defective parts or products for repair. Trim, smooth, and shape surfaces. Move, sort and pile materials and products. Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components. Equipment and machinery experience: Power tools. Small hand tool. Pneumatic devices. Precision measuring instrument. Area of work experience: Assembly line. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
