We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead manufacturing operations, facilities, and continuous improvement initiatives at our North York site. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while driving operational excellence across machining, assembly, maintenance, and support functions. The Operations Manager will lead a team and work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Leadership to achieve production goals, improve performance, and support business growth. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong focus on safety, productivity, quality, employee development, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. Drive Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives. Establish and monitor KPIs to improve operational performance and efficiency. Lead, coach, and develop production and support teams while fostering a culture of accountability and engagement. Ensure production schedules are achieved through effective coordination with Planning and Supply Chain. Oversee facility maintenance, infrastructure reliability, and preventative maintenance programs. Champion health, safety, and regulatory compliance across the site. Partner with cross-functional teams to align operational priorities with business and customer requirements. Manage operational budgets and support strategic business initiatives. Identify risks, resolve operational challenges, and implement sustainable solutions.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 10 years of manufacturing or operations leadership experience. Strong background in industrial manufacturing environments. Leadership experience managing large production teams. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and operational excellence principles. Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, CNC operations, welding, milling, and assembly. Knowledge of facilities management, maintenance programs, quality systems, and health and safety regulations. Experience with ERP and production planning systems. Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills. Data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving. Unionized manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
