About the role
Our client, a Canadian defense contractor specializing in Manufacturing and Textiles, is in search of a highly qualified Mechanical Engineer.
Key Responsibilities: • Lead production launch by developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, as well as identifying and procuring appropriate tooling and equipment. • Identify and troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problems to minimize down time and recommend solutions to plant management. • Promote and support LEAN Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement, including self-balancing cells activities. • Develop incentive program for production. • Develop and prepare work instructions, charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization. Job Requirements: • Excellent understanding of manufacturing engineering principles, methods, and planning. • Preferred experience in textile manufacturing engineering, but open to candidates with experience in other manufacturing environments. • Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office, with general computer applications skills. • Strong process-oriented mindset.
