Estimate repair cost based on damage examination report Inspect repaired vehicles Plan repair work to be performed Professionalism in customer service Clean and maintain work space Replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and under-body components File, grind and sand body surfaces to be repaired Hammer out dents, buckles and defects using blocks and hammers Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place Repair or replace interior components Repair or replace damaged windows, windshields and sunroofs Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams Straighten bent frames using frame and under-body pulling and anchoring equipment
Requirements No degree, certificate, or diploma required. Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the same occupation. Must have experience working with body components, doors and frames, frame straightening, front-end components, interior components, metal cutting, and under-body components. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and perform tasks involving bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Must demonstrate accuracy, dependability, reliability, judgment, excellent oral communication, and be a team player. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have own tools and steel-toed safety boots. Must be able to communicate in English. Must have Auto Body Repairer Trade Certification.
