GeoStabilization International is hiring experienced Rockfall Remediation Technicians for our growing Canadian operations.
A large number of our projects involve working at heights with rockfall remediation. Rockfall technicians are critical to the success of our work. We're looking for senior tradespeople with hands-on experience across a wide variety of rockfall projects.

Responsibilities
What You'll Lead
As an experienced geohazard mitigation technician specializing in rockfall remediation, you'll work on projects across Canada.
Your Core Responsibilities Include
Applying your skills across a variety of rockfall stabilization systems including rock scaling, rock anchor installation, air bag placement, and mesh fencing installation Working safely at heights using rope access techniques across all elevation ranges Executing safety plans—protecting the people around you is priority #1 Coaching and developing teammates to be more effective and grow their skills Operating specialized equipment including boulder busters, autostems, and drilling tools Managing quality control of installed geohazard mitigation products to jobsite specifications Helping with equipment maintenance and jobsite organization Communicating clearly with clients and internal teams

Required
2+ years in construction in geotechnical, environmental, civil, or similar industries with hands-on rockfall remediation experience Proven expertise in one or more rockfall mitigation techniques: rock scaling, rock anchor installation, air bag systems, mesh installation (draped/pinned TECCO), or similar Rope access capability – ability to safely work from heights using proper techniques and equipment Strong communication—clear, direct, solution-oriented Ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping the crew aligned Flexibility to travel and adjust schedules as needed Valid driver's license; Class 5 minimum (commercial license a plus)
Highly Desired
SPRAT or IRATA certification for rope access work Prior mountaineering, rope training, or rappelling experience Experience with rock drilling, casing, or similar construction techniques Experience operating heavy equipment (skid steer, Bobcat, scissor lifts) CDL or ability to obtain CDL Equipment maintenance and repair experience
Work & Travel Expectations
Outdoor work in varied Canadian climates—mountains, interior, coastal regions Typical construction-site hazards and noise levels; hearing protection often required Regular heavy lifting of 75 lbs+ Extensive travel—up to 100% across Canada; schedules vary by project location and crew needs Ability to travel at least 3 weeks per month

This position has multiple compensation levels depending on experience with rockfall remediation techniques, certifications, and equipment expertise.
