Job Summary

We?re seeking an experienced and dedicated Asphalt Raker to join team.

Reporting to the Foreman/Woman, the Asphalt Raker is responsible for raking hot asphalt to specified slopes and grades, maintaining a clean and organized job site, and ensuring the highest standards of workmanship and safety.

This is a hands-on field role ideal for professionals who take pride in precision, teamwork, and delivering quality results on every project.

  • Collaborate with the paving crew to perform hot asphalt work efficiently and safely.
  • Rake, level, and smooth asphalt to required slopes and grades with precision.
  • Support and train junior rakers to ensure proper raking techniques and consistent quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, securing tools and materials daily.
  • Operate skid-steers and rollers when required to assist with paving operations.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely from company trailers.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform minor maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure all tools, machinery, and vehicles are clean and in good working condition.
  • Perform other site-related or maintenance duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of asphalt raking experience (required).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating a skid-steer or paver (preferred).
  • Valid Class G driver?s licence (required).
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Strong ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Excellent physical condition ? able to lift, bend, kneel, and work long hours.
  • Calm under pressure, dependable, and safety-conscious.
  • Proficient in spoken English and able to follow instructions accurately.
  • Flexible to work weekdays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
