Senior Steel Detailer / Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Steel Detailer / Project Manager to lead structural steel detailing projects from award through fabrication and site coordination. This role requires a highly organized professional with strong technical expertise in structural steel, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across sales, engineering, detailing, fabrication, and field operations.

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage structural steel detailing projects from kickoff to final delivery Produce and oversee accurate steel detailing models and shop drawings Review and approve - Shop drawings, Erection drawings, Bills of Material (BOM), CNC and fabrication outputs Coordinate project schedules, priorities, and deliverables with internal teams Develop and maintain shipping schedules and material tracking reports Track and manage revisions and changes between Sales, Engineering, Detailers, Fabrication, Site/field teams Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, engineering standards, and fabrication requirements Communicate directly with engineers, architects, contractors, and fabrication teams to resolve issues efficiently Identify potential clashes, missing information, and constructability concerns before fabrication Mentor junior detailers and support continuous improvement initiatives Participate in project meetings and provide status updates on schedules, RFIs, revisions, and production

Required Qualifications Minimum 7–10 years of structural steel detailing experience Strong project management and coordination background in structural steel fabrication Expert-level proficiency in: Tekla Structures, Autodesk Advance Steel Extensive experience with: Structural steel shop drawings, Connection detailing, Bills of Material, Fabrication and erection processes Strong understanding of structural and architectural drawings Experience coordinating directly with fabrication shops and field/site teams Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
