Clean Water Pro specializes in assessing and improving the clarity, health, and quality of ponds, lakes, lagoons, and other waterbodies. Through comprehensive physical, chemical, and biological assessments, we evaluate water quality parameters including nutrients, vegetation, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, and overall ecosystem health.
Our team develops science-based treatment strategies tailored to each site and works alongside municipalities, commercial clients, agricultural operations, and environmental organizations throughout Manitoba and beyond.
Together with CWP Environmental and Vantage Drones, we combine environmental science with advanced UAV technology to deliver innovative services including environmental monitoring, mapping, inspections, aerial treatment applications, and geospatial data collection.
Our team works on meaningful projects that improve water quality, protect ecosystems, and support sustainable environmental management.
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Environmental Drone Operator to execute UAV missions across environmental, municipal, agricultural, and commercial projects.
This is a field-based technical position, not a sales or office role. You will operate professional DJI UAV platforms, collect high-quality aerial data, support environmental treatment programs, and maintain mission-critical equipment while working within a structured, safety-first operation.
You will receive ongoing technical training and follow established operating procedures with clear supervision and defined escalation processes. As your skills and certifications grow, your responsibilities will expand.
Key Responsibilities
Drone Operations
Operate UAVs on assigned missions including:
- Environmental monitoring
- Pond and lagoon treatment support
- Mapping and surveying
- Municipal infrastructure inspections
- Commercial site operations
- Aerial photography and videography
- Geospatial data collection
Responsibilities include:
- Complete pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures
- Execute approved mission plans exactly as assigned
- Capture imagery, mapping data, and flight information
- Maintain accurate flight records and mission documentation
Environmental Application Support
Assist with or conduct drone-based spraying and spreading operations where properly licensed and authorized.
Responsibilities include:
- Follow all product labels and environmental regulations
- Complete application documentation
- Maintain treatment records
- Support environmental field crews
Licensed operators may lead applications. Others will assist until required licensing is obtained.
Equipment Maintenance
Maintain operational readiness of:
- UAVs
- Payload systems
- Batteries
- Controllers
- GPS equipment
- Accessories
Responsibilities include:
- Inspection
- Cleaning
- Calibration
- Charging
- Preventative maintenance
- Reporting equipment issues immediately
No equipment is flown with unresolved technical concerns.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Transport Canada regulations
- Adhere to company SOPs
- Complete flight logs and maintenance records
- Participate in safety reviews
- Support incident reporting when required
- Operate professionally on municipal, agricultural, industrial, and remote sites
Training & Development
Receive structured training in:
- Advanced flight operations
- Mapping workflows
- Environmental monitoring
- Drone spraying
- Equipment maintenance
- Mission planning
- Data collection
Support demonstrations, customer training, and field events when requested.
Reporting Structure
Technical Supervision: Director of Technical Operations (Eric Melvin)
Task Scheduling: Control Tower
All work is assigned through structured operational systems.
Mission changes are not made independently.
If conditions change in the field:
- Stop work
- Contact supervision
- Await further instruction
Required Qualifications
Required
- Transport Canada Basic or Advanced RPAS Certificate
- Valid driver's licence
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail
- Safety-first mindset
- Ability to follow SOPs consistently
- Ability to lift and transport field equipment
Preferred
- Environmental field experience
- Agricultural experience
- Municipal operations experience
- DJI Enterprise platform experience
- DJI Agras experience
- Mapping or inspection experience
- Spray Applicator Licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Background in Environmental Science, Water Resources, GIS, Biology, Agriculture, or related disciplines
