About GCS General Contracting Services

GCS Construction is a division of GCS Group, delivering construction services across Alberta. Our carpentry division handles residential and commercial fence and deck installations, with capacity for larger structural and framing scopes. We're looking for an experienced carpenter with fence and deck experience to join our growing team.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on field role. You'll work alongside your crew completing fence and deck installations to a high standard, while contributing to site safety, material management, and daily production. You report directly to the Carpentry Lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fence and deck installations to quality and production standards

• Maintain site safety and cleanliness throughout the project

• Assist with sourcing, receiving, and tracking materials on site

• Communicate job status and any site issues to the Carpentry Lead

• Support estimating and site visits as required

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of carpentry experience
• Demonstrated experience with fence and deck installation
• Valid driver's license & Clean driver's abstract

Preferred

• Framing or structural carpentry experience
• Journeyman Carpenter ticket or equivalent
• Familiarity with Alberta Building Code
