Jr. Technologist/EIT - Building Asset Management

About the role
McCuaig & Associates Engineering Ltd. is currently seeking a Jr. Technologist/EIT to join our Asset Management Department at our Calgary, AB office. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of technical building science and project management experience and has a keen interest in the field of asset management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers in the following Asset Management projects:
- Condition Assessments
- Capital and Maintenance Planning
- Depreciation Reports / Reserve Fund Studies
- Feasibility Studies
- Perform site reviews / field investigation
- Review of drawings, specifications and other relevant technical and financial document
- Perform quantity takeoffs / estimating
- Develop budgets and cash flows
- Research building materials and maintain and update internal templates, database and library
- Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other specialty consultants as necessary
- Attend client meetings
Skills and Qualifications:
- Registered or eligible to register as an AScT with ASET or EIT/P.Eng. with APEGA
- Strong technical writing skills and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic
- Technically proficient in Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Autodesk Revit/CAD an asset
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities
- Effective project management skills and experience
- Relevant building science and construction industry related experience
- Working knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE 90.1, NEBC, and relevant standards
- Ability to travel
- Ability to work at heights
- Valid Driver’s License
