Your future role on our team
You’ll have the opportunity to work on a dynamic, multidisciplinary team and will provide technical support to the engineers on the mining team. You’ll also be expected to work closely with other team members who specialize in open-pit and underground mining and perform any other tasks necessary to achieve the team’s objectives.

Provide technical support to underground mining engineers and geologists for underground mine studies (conceptual, pre-feasibility, feasibility, detailed design and NI 43-101 technical reports), including:

Importing block models

Helping select underground mine methods

Calculating cut-off grades, dilution and mining recovery

Optimizing underground stopes and mine design
-
Helping optimize mining methods

Supporting mine planning and production scheduling

Contributing to equipment fleet calculations

Conducting trade-off studies
-
Supporting the steps leading to mineral reserve assessment

Participating in capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expense (OPEX) estimates

Helping write technical study reports

Summary of certifications and job requirements
- College diploma in mineral technology (mining or geology)
- Eight or more years of experience in underground mining
- Knowledge of underground mining methods
- Proficiency with mining software, ideally the Deswik.Sched module from Deswik
- Intermediate English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients located in English-speaking Canadian provinces and abroad; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
- Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
