<h3>Description</h3><div><strong>Job Title:</strong> Senior Combat and Systems Engineer or Specialist<br><strong>Location:</strong> Halifax, NS, Ottawa, ON, or Victoria, BC<br><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Permanent, Full-Time<br><strong>Annual Salary: </strong>$105,000-150,000<br><br>The Senior Systems Engineer or Specialist is responsible for professionally and efficiently executing work in support of client taskings and projects in the field of Systems Engineering.</div><div><br></div><div>Additionally, the Senior Systems Engineer or Specialist interacts with BMT?s capability teams to support the delivery of systems engineering services. </div><br><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provides and leads general and systems engineering advice and support to internal and external clients in various systems lifecycle phases.</li><li>Provides and leads general and specific requirements management services to internal and external clients in one or more of these areas: <ul><li> Requirements Elicitation: Execution of elicitation activities, analysis of customer and stakeholder needs, documentation of the outputs. </li><li>Requirements Definition: Translation of needs into requirements in accordance with guidelines and best practices.</li><li> Requirements Specification: Development of requirements specifications, such as Technical Requirements Specifications and Statements of Work. </li><li>Requirements Analysis: Decomposition and allocation of requirements, development of impact assessments, traceability analysis and requirements completion assessments. </li><li>Requirements Verification and Validation: Various activities performed on requirements and specifications to ensure quality standards and stakeholder needs are met. </li><li>Requirements Management: Support to the design and implementation of requirements specification infrastructures, development of requirements engineering plans, processes, and procedures. </li></ul></li><li>Manages, trains, directs, and supports the work of team members allocated to engineering taskings. </li><li>Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and/or participating in professional societies. </li><li>Contributes technical specialist expertise, or practical knowledge, to internal discussions, innovation projects and billable tasks. </li><li>Provides mentoring, training and guidance to more junior engineers and technologists.</li><li>Conducts technical assurance activities on deliverables to ensure that work products are technically sound and that deliverables meet client requirements.</li><li>Acts as a Technical Lead and/or Technical Assurer on specified projects while working within the BMT Quality Management System (QMS) processes and procedures. </li><li>Participates in the development and growth of the systems engineering capability at the regional level. </li></ul><div>Additionally, the Senior Systems Engineer or Specialist may support the Combat & Systems Engineering team in various technical and project management work, such as:</div><ul><li>Application of systems engineering principles, regulations, and standards to various applications. </li><li>Conducting and leading engineering assessments, feasibility studies and technical investigations. </li><li>Support various projects in a systems engineering capacity in combat and military systems, cybersecurity, naval systems and platforms, and others. </li></ul><br><h3>Skills, Knowledge & Expertise</h3><div><strong>Essential:</strong></div><ul><li>University degree in Engineering or Applied Science </li><li> Minimum 10 years of experience in an engineering environment </li><li> Practical experience in one or more areas of Requirements Engineering, including elicitation, definition, specification, analysis, verification and validation, and management </li><li> Strong problem-solving and analytical skills </li><li> Highly organized
