About the role
You will be called upon to design high precision medical robots used by specialized surgeons. As an electrical designer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team whose primary mission is to design hardware components (controller, actuator, vision module, robotic hands, etc.) used in the construction of our robotic solutions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, organize, plan, and execute tasks related to the development of analog and digital electronic systems and circuits for new products as well as for the improvement of existing products, according to established standards and specifications;
- You will notably develop various electronic circuits (processor, microcontrollers, power supply boards, different communication buses (SPI, USB, Ethernet, Ethercat), memory (RAM, FLASH), motor control, sensors (current, temperature, torque, etc.)), in collaboration with the software, mechanical, production engineering, and procurement groups;
- Develop and maintain documentation related to electronic systems (specification, schematics, design documents, characterization plan, BOM, etc.);
- Carry out characterization/validation activities for hardware components;
- Work closely with manufacturing engineers to ensure that designs are easy to assemble (DFM) and test (DFT) and also participate in the design of test jigs for production.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering;
- Pertinent experience in a company;
- Good experience in electronic design;
- Knowledge of DFT and DFM rules;
- Experience in electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC);
- Fluency in French and English;
- Excellent interpersonal skills (teamwork), leadership, autonomy and proactivity.
ASSETS
- Background in product certification (CE, CB scheme, FDA, etc.);
- Interest in understanding and applying design standards for medical robots;
- Member of OIQ;
- Experience in medical field and knowledge of standards, IEC 60601,ISO 13485, IPC-610, IEC 80601-2-77:2019, etc.;
- Knowledge of PADS / Altium software;
- Knowledge of thermal integration/analysis;
- Experience with microcontrollers;
- Experience with C, C++, Python programming.
