About the role
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Custom machine shop. General manufacturing. Tasks: Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Measuring tools: Gauges. Micrometers. Verniers. Equipment and machinery experience: Boring machines. Drilling machine. Milling machines. Turret lathes. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Equipment: Automatic lathes. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Repetitive tasks.
