Who we need
We are looking for a Sustainability Manager to join our team. This is a client-facing, commercially integrated role, reporting to the Sr. Director, Sustainability & Risk Management and working closely with Sales, Commercial Operations, Design, Procurement, and Operations teams.
This role brings sustainability directly into the commercial process - supporting bids, proposals, client presentations, and ongoing customer sustainability requirements across North America. This is an evolving, highly collaborative role that suits someone who is adaptable, proactive, and comfortable navigating shifting priorities.
You will act as the link between technical sustainability expertise and commercial execution, translating carbon, emissions, and lifecycle data into practical client solutions and business outcomes.
This job posting is for an existing vacancy and is a full-time role, working 3 days a week in the Scarborough office.
What’s in it for you
Client-facing impact. You will directly shape how sustainability is positioned in client conversations, proposals, and presentations. Your work will influence how global brands understand and respond to their environmental footprint.
Commercial integration. You will sit alongside Sales and Commercial Operations teams, contributing directly to bids, client solutions, and strategic growth opportunities.
Hands-on emissions and carbon work. You will lead greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, carbon footprint analysis, and emissions reduction initiatives using recognized frameworks such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
Global exposure, local focus. You will collaborate with sustainability colleagues across Europe and APAC while supporting primarily North American clients and programs.
Room to grow. As Array’s sustainability program continues to mature, this role offers the opportunity to expand into broader sustainability leadership, commercial strategy, or adjacent client-facing roles over time.
You will:
-
Lead client-facing sustainability work. You will support sales and commercial teams by developing sustainability inputs for proposals, bids, and client presentations. You will respond to client ESG and sustainability inquiries and help position Array’s solutions in a competitive marketplace.
-
Own carbon and emissions analysis. You will lead GHG inventory development, carbon footprint calculations, emissions tracking, and target-setting initiatives. You will facilitate third-party assurance processes and
align with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) where applicable. -
Support sustainability reporting and disclosures. You will track sustainability KPIs and contribute to external reporting requirements, including CDP, EcoVadis, and annual sustainability disclosures.
-
Develop sustainability tools and models. You will build and maintain LCA models, carbon calculators, EcoDesign scorecards, and other tools that support both internal decision-making and client-facing work.
-
Engage suppliers and support Scope 3 reductions. You will collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to collect ESG data, engage suppliers, and identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact across the value chain.
-
Deliver training and build capability. You will design and deliver sustainability training for internal teams, including topics such as carbon accounting, EcoDesign, and environmental awareness.
-
Drive continuous improvement. You will identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, and circularity across operations and client solutions.
-
Support compliance and reporting. You will contribute to environmental reporting, regulatory submissions, and hazardous waste reporting requirements as needed.
-
Act as a sustainability SME. You will provide technical guidance across the business and support sustainability-related projects, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
You bring:
-
The experience. You bring experience in sustainability, ESG, or environmental management within manufacturing, industrial, retail fixtures, signage, or similar operational environments. You understand how sustainability connects to commercial decision-making and client delivery and are comfortable operating across both technical and business-facing contexts.
-
The technical knowledge. You have strong practical knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, GHG inventories, emissions reporting, and carbon analysis methodologies such as LCA and EcoDesign. You are familiar with ESG reporting frameworks including CDP and EcoVadis and are comfortable working with sustainability data, models, and reporting tools.
-
The client-facing confidence. You are comfortable presenting to clients and sales teams. You can communicate complex sustainability concepts clearly, confidently, and persuasively in commercial settings.
-
The commercial mindset. You understand that sustainability is increasingly part of how business is won. You are able to support proposals, influence stakeholders, and contribute to growth conversations—not just reporting cycles.
-
The collaboration. You build strong relationships across sales, operations, procurement, and technical teams. You know how to influence without authority and bring people along through data, clarity, and trust.
-
The adaptability. You thrive in a fast-moving, evolving environment and are comfortable working without rigid structure. You are proactive, resourceful, and effective in ambiguous situations.
The salary for this role is $85,000 - $100,000. Compensation is thoughtfully determined based on your experience, skill set, and alignment with our internal compensation framework. We’re always happy to answer questions about compensation throughout the hiring process.
What you can expect from the interview process:
