About the role
Vehicle Testing / Road Test Specialist/Manager Location Base Toronto with frequency travel to Montreal
Key Responsibilities Vehicle Road Testing Plan and execute vehicle road testing activities across various driving environments. Conduct testing on prototype, pre-production, and production vehicles. Support vehicle development, evaluation, and performance assessment activities. Coordinate testing activities across different road, weather, and environmental conditions, including winter testing. Vehicle Evaluation Evaluate vehicle performance and driving characteristics, including: Ride & Handling Steering Braking Vehicle Dynamics Powertrain Performance Drivability NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) ADAS Features Identify vehicle issues and performance gaps. Document test findings and provide structured feedback to engineering teams. Testing Program Management Coordinate vehicle test schedules, resources, and logistics. Work with internal engineering teams and external testing facilities. Track testing progress and ensure timely completion of test activities. Support issue investigation, troubleshooting, and verification activities. Regulatory & Certification Support Support vehicle certification and homologation testing activities when required. Coordinate with external testing agencies and certification organizations. Assist with test documentation and compliance-related activities. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Vehicle Engineering, Product Development, Validation, Quality, and Global R&D teams. Provide technical recommendations based on test results and vehicle evaluations. Support continuous vehicle improvement and localization efforts for the Canadian market.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of experience in vehicle testing, road testing, vehicle development, or vehicle evaluation. Hands-on experience conducting and managing vehicle road testing programs. Strong understanding of: Vehicle Dynamics Ride & Handling Vehicle Performance Evaluation Testing Methodologies Experience identifying and documenting vehicle performance issues. Strong communication and project coordination skills. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently.
Preferred Qualifications Experience within an automotive OEM, engineering service provider, or vehicle testing organization. Experience with EV or hybrid vehicles. Experience in winter testing and durability testing. Familiarity with vehicle data acquisition systems and CAN tools. Exposure to homologation or certification testing activities. Previous leadership or team management experience is a plus.
