Role Description The Digital Prepress Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for preparing customer artwork files for print, including preflighting, color correction, file formatting, and imposition to meet press and finishing specifications. The operator will set up jobs for various grand format printers, coordinate with production and installation teams, and ensure all files meet quality, layout, and resolution standards. Daily tasks include troubleshooting file issues, managing proofs and approvals, maintaining accurate job records, and supporting continuous improvement of prepress workflows. The role requires close collaboration with project managers and production staff to meet deadlines and deliver consistent, high-quality output. Qualifications Strong Print Production skills, including familiarity with grand format printing workflows and materials. Hands-on experience in Pre-press, including file preparation, preflighting, color management, and imposition. Knowledge of Printing processes and equipment, with an understanding of substrates, inks, and finishing methods. Experience with CTP and Plate Making or similar digital prepress technologies used in commercial printing environments. Proficiency in industry-standard design and prepress software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, RIP software). High attention to detail, strong visual accuracy, and ability to identify and resolve file and layout issues quickly. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with production, sales, and installation teams. Previous experience in large format or commercial printing is an asset; relevant technical training or certification is beneficial.
