We have an opening for a cardiology technologist at Burnaby Neurology.
This would be for performance of tilt table testing. All testing is performed inside of the clinic at Burnaby Neurology.
Job Requirements: Certification in Cardiology Technology or equivalent
You would be comfortable in placing cardiac electrodes on patients and monitoring a continuous ECG. Also, you would be comfortable in placing a blood pressure cuff on for testing during the procedure and an oxygen sensor on the finger. Each tilt table test is up to 44 minutes in length. Measurements of heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturations are recorded every two minutes or more if clinically needed.
The tilt table is moved during the testing from flat to upright (90 degrees) gradually over the course of the testing.
Patients may become faint during the testing, in which case you help to support the patient who is connected to the tilt table and bring the table back to a flat position.
You must be comfortable with using Microsoft Excel and general computer operations.
Testing either takes place for 2.5 -3 days per week (24 hours) and a further half day (6 hours) of data analysis and maintenance for a total of 30 hours per week. Hourly pay is competitive at $36.60 per hour. More hours would be available if applicable and interested.
