The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and managing OT (Operational Technology) control systems and industrial processes with a focus on safety, asset reliability, uptime, and real-time operations. This position is site-based.
Work Schedule
- 1 week in / 1 week out Saskatoon & Prince Albert flights only
- 11-hour shifts/day
- Fly-in/Fly-out site-based position
Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, optimize, design, and manage industrial process control systems including PLCs, DCS systems, OT networking, cybersecurity, and communication systems to improve reliability.

Maintain and improve plant automation systems.

Manage small sustaining projects related to control system upgrades and automation initiatives.

Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC and DCS systems.

Test, modify, and update PLC/DCS programs and verify functionality.

Integrate vendor equipment into mining process control systems.

Diagnose failures in instrumentation and control systems, including board-level troubleshooting where appropriate.

Coordinate with instrument and control technologists to identify bottlenecks and improve system performance.

Collaborate with corporate IT, OT, and process control teams to develop and implement solutions.

Maintain site standards for instrumentation, control hardware, and electronic components.

Maintain accurate documentation, configurations, and system practices aligned with reliability and cybersecurity requirements.

Ensure industrial process control systems comply with corporate and regulatory standards.

Act as the site contact and subject matter expert for larger design and installation projects related to industrial process control systems.

Assess safety programs and implement improvements.

Facilitate inspections, internal audits and incident investigations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5–8 years of experience with industrial control systems.
- Eligible for registration with APEGS.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with industrial control and/or OT systems including PLC, HMI, DCS, networking, communications, and system architecture management.
- Strong troubleshooting and design capabilities.
- Experience with industrial instrumentation and industrial data protocols.
- Experience configuring switches, firewalls, and hardware supporting industrial communication protocols.
- Ability to work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with modern maintenance systems, methodologies, and reliability-focused technologies.

Experience working in industrial mining or mineral processing environments.

Hands-on experience with Foxboro, Schneider, or similar industrial control and automation platforms.

Experience with CMMS systems, preferably SAP.
