Reporting to: Dean of TradesApprenticeships

Salary:

$74,618.00 - $88,536.00 annually based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement, with annual increments up to a maximum of $114,001.00.

Vacation entitlement is 240 hours per year (pro-rated from the hire date) to be utilized during the summer months (July and August). The College also provides paid time off during its annual holiday closure from December 25 to January 1. The position includes a comprehensive extended health and dental benefits package, and enrolment in the College Pension Plan is mandatory, with employer-matched contributions.

Description:

Northern Lights College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Instructor for the Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) program. This rewarding opportunity allows you to share your industry expertise and help prepare students for successful careers in the skilled trades.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the Millwright trade, committed to student success, and eager to train the next generation of industry professionals. Instructional assignments may include Foundation and Apprenticeship training at any level, delivered in our state-of-the-art trades training facility in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.

In this role, you will deliver both theoretical and practical instruction, promote safe work practices, and help students develop the knowledge and skills required to succeed in today's industrial environments.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Certification as a Millwright (Industrial Mechanic)
  • Minimum of five years of related industry experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive college environment
  • A supportive and student-centred approach to teaching and learning

Preferred:

  • Previous teaching or instructional experience
  • Completion of Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) or an equivalent adult education credential (or a willingness to obtain)
  • Generalist background, including oil and gas, forestry, and mining operations
