About The Role

We are seeking a talented Software Developer to join our expanding team on a permanent basis. This role involves working closely with our research and development teams to build and enhance internal software tools that support the next stages of our quantum processor development roadmap. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance software modules across various levels of our software stack, from high-level quantum algorithm definitions to low-level pulse sequence execution on physical hardware. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge quantum computing projects in a highly collaborative environment, where your work will directly impact the advancement of quantum technologies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, physics, or a related field, complemented by a minimum of four years of professional experience in software development within an industry setting. Experience working within scientific or research and development environments is considered an asset. Proficiency in Python programming and a solid understanding of best coding practices are essential. The candidate should have an advanced command of English to facilitate effective communication within our diverse, international team. Additional expertise in areas such as database management, distributed systems, cloud computing, DevOps, compiler development, or control electronics will be highly valued and considered a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

Analyze functional and technical requirements by collaborating with stakeholders to understand project needs and objectives. Design, develop, and maintain robust, high-quality software tools that support quantum processor development and research activities. Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and maintain code quality. Implement and maintain comprehensive unit tests to guarantee software reliability and performance. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs or issues within the software ecosystem promptly. Participate in architecture design discussions, contributing to decisions on technology stacks and system structure. Create detailed documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and future development efforts.
