Role Description The Embroidery Technician is a part-time, on-site role based in Mississauga, ON. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring multi-head embroidery machines to produce high-quality custom garments and products. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting work orders, loading and hooping garments, threading and adjusting machines, and performing test runs to ensure accurate stitching, color, and placement. The Embroidery Technician will inspect finished items for quality, troubleshoot minor machine issues, perform routine cleaning and maintenance, and report any technical problems to supervisors. The role also involves collaborating with the production and design teams, organizing workstations and materials, following safety and quality guidelines, and meeting production deadlines. Qualifications Experience operating commercial or multi-head embroidery machines, including threading, tension adjustment, and hooping garments. Ability to read and interpret production work orders, design specifications, and embroidery layouts. Basic understanding of embroidery file formats (e.g., DST) and familiarity with embroidery or design software is an asset. Strong attention to detail for colour matching, design placement, and quality inspection of finished products. Good manual dexterity and comfort working with fabrics, threads, and small components. Ability to perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting. Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment. Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with production, design, and customer service staff. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move boxes of garments and supplies as needed, with reasonable accommodation where required. Previous experience in embroidery, screen printing, or related apparel decoration is preferred; training may be provided for candidates with strong technical aptitude.
