JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Equipment Operator
Replacement or New Role: New Role
Term: Full-Time, Permanent
Work Mode: Onsite
Reports to: Regional Manger- Poultry Operations, Project Supervisor
Direct Reports: 0
Salary Range: $26.80 - $30.77

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operation of various heavy equipment, not limited to, excavator, backhoe, tractor, grader, and snowplow equipment

Operate the equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, including applying for utility locates

Complete daily maintenance and inspections of equipment

Contact appropriate people for repairs and assist
-
Perform regular cleaning of equipment
-
Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored
-
Clear ditches, earth moving, driveway construction, digging footings and landscaping
-
Load and unload various skids and equipment and move material around project site
-
Assist with backfilling trenches including placing utilities (I.E waterlines), fabrics and materials
-
Use hand tools such as rake, shovel and wheelbarrow to excavate, level and spread material
-
Tree clearing with various equipment including hand tools, chain saw and heavy equipment attachments

Periodic assistance with planting, harvesting and other cropping duties

Follow our farm protocols and programs (workplace safety, security, animal welfare, food safety, on-farm biosecurity)

Shifts driving pullet truck as required

Other farm duties as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
College degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
-
Experience with agriculture or farm animals is considered an asset

Able to lead and work as part of a team

Communication skills – written and oral
-
Comfortable around farm animals. Able to follow animal welfare standards

English essential

Regular travel to other farm locations across Canada is required
