ABOUT US: Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS) is a registered non-profit charity located in Calgary, Alberta helping over 6,000 animals each year. Our mission is to rescue and rehome animals in need and provide community support programs that help people and their pets.

At AARCS, we're looking for a hands-on, organized, and proactive Facilities & Operations Coordinator who enjoys solving problems, keeping things running smoothly, and taking pride in a job well done. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Director of Finance & Facilities, you will:
Coordinate The daily flow of donations and supplies throughout the shelter. Warehouse organization and inventory to ensure programs always have what they need. Deliveries, large donations, and incoming shipments. Building maintenance, repairs, contractors, and service providers. Maintenance schedules for AARCS vehicles and equipment. Maintain Shelter facilities to ensure they remain safe, clean, and functional. Mechanical systems including furnaces, air conditioning units, washers, dryers, plumbing, and electrical systems. Warehouse, storage spaces, and C-can organization. Essential shelter supplies through purchasing and inventory management. Outdoor areas through seasonal maintenance including snow removal, salting, and lawn care. Support Approximately 25 inventory volunteers through training, guidance, and ongoing support. Cross-departmental operations by responding to facility and maintenance requests. A safe and welcoming environment for animals, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Contribute To a collaborative team that works together to solve challenges and improve daily operations. To the success of every department by keeping the behind-the-scenes operations running efficiently. To AARCS' mission by creating an environment where animals receive the highest standard of care.
What We Are Looking For Experience Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. At least two years of experience in facilities, warehouse, operations, maintenance, or a similar role. Warehouse and inventory experience is considered an asset. Inventory Specialist certification, HVAC or other trade education is considered an asset. Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification. Skills Strong organizational and time management skills. Comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Basic knowledge of building maintenance and facility systems. Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, snow blowers, and company vehicles (or willingness to learn). Experience with Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and inventory management. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, contractors, and vendors. Characteristics A proactive problem-solver who enjoys hands-on work. Someone who takes pride in keeping spaces organized, clean, and operating efficiently. Adaptable and dependable with a positive attitude. Passionate about animal welfare and making a difference behind the scenes. Comfortable working in an active shelter environment where no two days are alike. Working Conditions Busy warehouse and animal shelter environment with moderate to loud noise levels. Indoor and outdoor work throughout all seasons. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and up to 120 lbs with assistance. Exposure to animals, including those that may be dangerous and/or diseased. Active role involving walking, lifting(50 lbs alone, or more with assistance), bending, operating equipment, and general physical labour.
