About the role
Line of Business: Cement & White Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees This position is responsible to lead and manage cement plant operations and all related services, including production, maintenance, quality, CAPEX, and plant accounting, while ensuring compliance with labor, safety, environmental, and corporate policies and regulations. This position reports to the Regional Vice President of Operations and is based in Picton, ON. Prince Edward County, located on the shores of Lake Ontario, known for its food, nature, art, and community. What You’ll Be Doing Lead safe, reliable, and efficient daily cement plant operations. Build a high-performing team through clear expectations, coaching, and development. Drive continuous improvement in production, maintenance, and overall site performance. Ensure full compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality standards. Manage budgets, resources, and production planning to meet operational and business targets. Develop long-term stay-in-business (SIB) and improvement CAPEX strategies to ensure a sustainable and competitive plant future. Establish strong collaboration with corporate support, sales, and logistics functions. Maintain a stable and professional relationship with Union leadership. Foster positive relationships with the local community and relevant stakeholders. What Are We Looking For Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. Alternatively, a proven long-term track record in production, maintenance, or as an Assistant Plant Manager within a cement plant environment. Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to develop teams and drive accountability. Sound operational judgment and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced plant environment. Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement. Work Environment This role operates within an outdoor, heavy industrial cement plant environment with exposure to weather, noise, dust, and large mobile equipment. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
