As Project Engineer, you’ll lead the execution of new business initiatives, capital investment projects, technical transfers, and tooling implementation for the Packaging Services business unit. You’ll play a critical role in driving projects from concept through commercialization while partnering with cross-functional and cross-site teams to ensure successful delivery aligned with customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and operational goals.

What You’ll Be Accountable For:

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead cross-functional and cross-site teams in the successful execution of capital projects, new product launches, technical transfers, and operational improvement initiatives
  • Develop, execute, and monitor project plans to ensure projects are delivered on scope, on schedule, and within budget
  • Provide regular project updates and communicate progress related to scope, schedule, risks, and budget to key stakeholders
  • Support new product launches through PLT, PQ, and technical transfer activities aligned with customer commercialization timelines

Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and successful project execution
  • Translate customer requirements into detailed technical specifications and actionable engineering deliverables
  • Build strong working relationships across Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Operations, and external partners to support project success and customer satisfaction

Engineering, Tooling & Technical Expertise

  • Lead the sourcing, evaluation, implementation, and validation of new tooling, equipment, and production capabilities
  • Participate in technical investigations, raw material evaluations, and process assessments to identify optimal manufacturing and packaging solutions
  • Provide engineering guidance to ensure products, processes, and systems meet stakeholder expectations and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement standardized work procedures to improve consistency, efficiency, and operational performance

Compliance, Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with cGMP requirements, Health Canada, FDA, and internal Quality Management Systems
  • Create and execute validation documentation, change controls, and GMP documentation practices related to equipment and facility projects
  • Identify opportunities for operational, process, and compliance improvements through customer discussions, trend analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support and promote Health, Safety, and Environmental programs to maintain a safe and compliant workplace

Leadership & Team Support

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance to project contributors and cross-functional teams
  • Foster collaboration and accountability across multiple departments and sites to achieve shared project goals
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence

What You’ll Bring:

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field; P.Eng. designation and Lean Manufacturing certifications are considered strong assets
  • 5+ years of progressive experience within pharmaceutical, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments in a project leadership capacity
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical or medical device packaging processes, equipment, and technical transfer activities
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects from planning through execution and commercialization
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies including Health Canada, FDA, and Ministry of Labour requirements
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to apply data-driven decision-making and industry best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when required to support customer needs and project deadlines

Total Rewards

We’re offering a competitive compensation in the range of $90,000 – $125,000 per year. Pay will be determined based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
