About the role
Lead the Quality Assurance function to ensure that all products, processes, and systems meet customer, regulatory, and industry requirements and quality objectives. This role supervises the implementation of the corporate Quality Management System (QMS) across multiple locations, drives continuous improvement, leads problem-solving initiatives, and collaborates with a team of quality engineers and specialists across multiple sites to achieve zero-defect manufacturing.
Position Tasks:
- Quality Management Systems (QMS):
o Maintain and support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and customer-specific requirements.
o Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.
o Prepare and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and control plans.
- Product & Process Quality:
o Monitor Processes and measurement devices, calibration, etc., and provide data for process capability.
o Validate first article/first off inspections (FAI) and sample approvals.
o Conduct process audits and shop floor quality controls.
- Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement:
o Lead 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone (Ishikawa), and other structured problem-solving methods for internal and customer concerns.
o Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate root causes.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Production, Supply Chain)
o Review, monitor, and audit issued NCRs for effective resolution and correctness.
- Customer & Supplier Interface:
o Act as a key contact for customer quality issues (complaints, warranty returns, audit findings).
o Manage supplier quality performance, incoming inspection standards, and supplier corrective actions.
o Track and report Customer PPM / Internal PPM metrics.
- Documentation & Reporting:
o Prepare quality performance reports (scrap, rework, defect trends, KPI dashboards).
o Maintain calibration records of measurement equipment.
o Manage QMS document information and ensure the latest revisions, approvals, and an effective documented information process.
o Ensure traceability and proper documentation in line with core tools requirements.

Skills:

Benefits
- Electrical Engineering Degree, or Mechanical/Industrial Engineering Degree
- Minimum of 7 years-experience in Electrical (Transformers)/Automotive/A&D manufacturing environment.
- Leadership ability to act as a facilitator and trainer in on-the-floor environment.
- Must possess good computer skills with experience in Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of the product and plant operations.
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 series standards.
- Knowledge of regulatory (IEEE/ANSI & CSA Standards) and customer specifications.
- Knowledge of LEAN concepts is considered an asset.
- Experience in Industrious considered an asset.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
· Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments, requiring movement between production areas and administrative spaces.
· Frequent interaction with production equipment, testing stations, and inspection tools; adherence to PPE (personal protective equipment) and safety protocols is required.
· May involve standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs/ladders during audits, inspections, and shop floor activities.
· Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving of equipment, parts, or samples (up to 50lbs).
· Regular use of computers, quality management systems, and measurement devices.
· Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions such as noise, dust, fumes, oils, chemicals, and varying temperatures; appropriate controls and protective measures are in place.
· Flexibility to support shift coverage, overtime, or off-hours audits as business needs require.
· Up to 10% travel is required in this role as required to meet business needs (Satellite plants, Vendors, Customers)
