Reports to: Maintenance - supervisor

Location: 8955 Jim Bailey Crescent, Kelowna, BC

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm (flexible as assigned)

Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:30pm (flexible as assigned)

Sunday to Thursday, 10:00pm – 6:30am (flexible as assigned)

Pay Schedule: Hourly

Job Summary:
The main purpose of the Maintenance Technician - Millwright is to effectively troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain all packaging, processing and utility equipment, while taking into consideration the company’s commitment to our seven Core Values such as Sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to your area of responsibility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot all production, utility and processing equipment
  • Repair all equipment and facilities
  • Adjust and optimize equipment performance
  • Install and train on all new equipment
  • Perform equipment inspections
  • Change filters, oil, dust collector bags, etc.
  • Weld mild and stainless steels and fabricate parts
  • Assist operators in setup and tooling
  • Solve problems with equipment
  • Interact with suppliers to source spare parts and maintenance supplies
  • Service air systems
  • Follow preventative maintenance schedule
  • Complete maintenance and write work reports
  • Read equipment manuals and maintain trade and technical knowledge
  • Clean equipment
  • Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement department to identify proactive opportunities for continuous improvement in partnership with other departments
  • Work on other assigned maintenance projects
  • Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Technical

  • Must have electrical and mechanical background
  • Must have trade Millwright Journeyman ticket (BC or inter-provincial)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in operation and maintenance of related equipment
  • Knowledge of compressed air, vacuum pumps and HVAC equipment
  • GMP knowledge an asset
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Forklift certification or experience preferred
  • Fourth class steam engineer certification an asset
