About the role

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain portions of 3D piping and equipment models using established design methodologies and industry best practices, under the direction of senior design personnel as required. Utilize advanced 3D CAD modeling tools to produce accurate piping layouts and equipment arrangements in accordance with project specifications. Participate in client model review sessions and coordinate the documentation, tracking, and resolution of review comments within assigned areas of responsibility. Prepare material take-offs and assist in the development of bulk material quantity estimates for project execution and procurement activities. Collaborate closely with designers and engineers from other disciplines to ensure design integration and consistency across the project. Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, open communication, innovation, accountability, and quality. Liaise with clients, technical experts, project stakeholders, and multidisciplinary team members to obtain and clarify design requirements. Ensure all design deliverables comply with project standards, company procedures, client requirements, and applicable industry codes. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to junior, intermediate, and senior piping designers to support project execution and professional development. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to design processes, modeling practices, and project delivery efficiency. Qualifications

Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology from a recognized two-year college program, or completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship in a related discipline. Minimum of eight years of experience as a Piping Designer within the oil and gas industry. Extensive experience developing equipment and piping models using 3D CAD software, with strong proficiency in SmartPlant 3D (SP3D/S3D). Solid understanding of piping design principles, plant layout requirements, and industry drafting standards. Demonstrated ability to make routine technical and project-related decisions independently within established project guidelines and objectives. Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
