About the Role We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Irrigation Lead to oversee the installation of irrigation systems on some of Vancouver’s most prestigious residential landscape projects. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys solving technical challenges, and can confidently lead and mentor a small team. As the Irrigation Lead, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and installing irrigation systems while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to Fossil’s exacting standards. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, coordinate materials and equipment, and help develop practical irrigation solutions that support long-term landscape health and performance.

Responsibilities Irrigation Installation & Planning Install residential irrigation systems for high-end landscape construction projects. Review project plans and develop efficient irrigation layouts and installation strategies. Troubleshoot and resolve irrigation system issues during installation and commissioning. Ensure all systems are installed to industry best practices and client expectations. Perform testing, adjustments, and system start-ups to verify proper operation. Leadership & Team Development Lead and supervise one or more team members on irrigation projects. Provide training, coaching, and support to help team members develop their skills. Set clear expectations and maintain a productive, positive work environment. Coordinate daily activities to ensure projects stay on schedule. Project Planning, Scheduling & Coordination Plan and schedule irrigation installations to meet project timelines and construction sequencing requirements. Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Leaders to ensure irrigation work is completed efficiently and at the appropriate stage of each project. Source and purchase irrigation materials and components as required. Anticipate labour, equipment, and material requirements and communicate needs proactively. Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and irrigation supplies. Ensure materials, equipment, and resources are available when needed to support project success. Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address changing site conditions and priorities. Deploy team members effectively to maximize productivity, efficiency, and quality. Communicate project progress, challenges, and recommendations clearly and proactively to stakeholders. Safety and Administration Maintain Fossil’s high standards for workmanship and attention to detail. Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and industry regulations. Promote a culture of safety and professionalism on every job site. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order.

What You Bring Required Skills & Experience Proven experience installing, repairing, and troubleshooting residential irrigation systems. Strong knowledge of irrigation components, controllers, valves, wiring, and system design principles. Strong organizational and scheduling skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Ability to read and interpret landscape and irrigation plans. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Experience leading or mentoring team members. Stable work history demonstrating reliability and commitment to previous employers. Valid Class 5 driver's license and comfort driving company vehicles. Certified Irrigation Technician Level 1 and 2. Assets Experience working on high-end residential landscape projects. Knowledge of smart irrigation technologies and water conservation practices. Experience with system audits, upgrades, and renovations. Irrigation Design certification through IIABC.
