About the role
Surepoint is currently seeking safety-focused, dependable, and highly skilled Journeymen Instrumentation Technicians for upcoming out-of-town projects. The ideal candidates are experts in troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting complex instrumentation systems and equipment in dynamic industrial environments. Key Responsibilities Strictly adhere to all company environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures. Work safely on or around "live" processes or equipment, including system isolation and de-pressurization. Complete the maintenance, replacement, and installation of facility equipment. Perform calibrations and installations requiring precision instrumentation tubing. Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and specialty tools (such as tubing benders). Handle basic Instrumentation Test Equipment and operate advanced calibration tools/programs (e.g., Hart Communicators). Use advanced meters to check continuity, resistance, voltages, and current readings. Utilize and support systems including compressor panels, RTUs, BMS, line heaters, and production facility equipment. Maintain strong situational awareness and working knowledge of Gas Detection, LEL Detection, and Fire Detection controllers and sensors. Qualifications & Requirements Certified Journeyman Instrumentation Technician designation is required. Proven construction and maintenance instrumentation experience. Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract. Valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform (AWP), and Common Safety Orientation (CSO) are highly preferred. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A self-starter capable of taking initiative and working independently, while seamlessly integrating into a team environment. Reliable, dependable, with a proven track record of excellent attendance and punctuality. Ability to work in various conditions ranging from indoor facilities to harsh outdoor weather environments, including working from heights as required.
