The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $113,700 - $149,200. The salary offered will be based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and qualifications.

Toyota Canada Inc. currently has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Accessories Quality Engineering to join our Accessories department. This is a full-time opportunity and will report to the National Manager, Accessories. The selected candidate will develop and continuously improve Accessory Quality Engineering processes and programs to maximize product quality and customer experience. The successful candidate will also monitor and investigate all filled quality reports for accessories and develop countermeasure plans where required. Finally, this individual will be responsible for the Technical Approval process from TMC Window Group for Toyota Canada Service Marketing products.

What You’ll Be Doing

Implement the Toyota Canada Certified Vendor program and getting buy in from the vendor community: perform vendor assessments and validate results, develop implementation schedule and launch implementation phase. Provide technical support to vendors to improve operations and certification levels Track corporate accessory Claim Rate and Failure Proportion, review all Flash Product Reports, Field Technical Reports, Port Quality Reports, Customer Interaction Centre input, reports to develop countermeasures and field fixes Work closely with Design Engineering to identify root cause and provide necessary support for countermeasure and field fix development. Monitor and track accessory warranty costs/vendors reimbursement Provide timely technical support to Legal, PQSS, Customer Relations, etc. Work with Toyota Canada ports to implement quality programs. Support Product Quality & Service Support department with joint projects. Provide technical support to Toyota Canada service marketing team with product technical approval by participating in required meetings, reviewing technical requirements as per Toyota Standards. Ensure vendor compliance with requirements as determined by Toyota Canada Legal or Regulatory Affairs. Provide leadership and guidance to junior team, including mentoring an Intern Engineering student to support Toyota Canada activities. Self-improvement to acquire latest updates on vendor management and quality programs in manufacturing Other duties as required.

People Management

Provide timely guidance, coaching, feedback, and accountability for direct reports to drive learning & development and successful project completion Lead team members to foster collaboration, understanding, support & Kaizen (continuous improvement) resulting in work efficiencies Empower the team to take initiative and proactively influence the business

What You’ll Bring

University degree in Engineering. (Industrial Engineering with a background of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred) 8 to 10 years’ experience in automotive engineering Expert knowledge of the Toyota Production System (TPS). Working knowledge of Six Sigma techniques. Operational experience in production environments. Automotive experience with solid Toyota/Lexus product knowledge preferred Sound technical knowledge of automotive electronics & mechanical systems for design. Strong problem-solving skills Strong organizational and leadership skills Strong written and interpersonal skills Strong negotiation and analytical skills Proven ability to initiate & Improve work processes to increase efficiencies Ability to travel up to 50%
