Position Summary
The Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on customer equipment to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. This role supports manufacturing and field operations by ensuring all mechanical systems and components meet company and regulatory standards.This position requires a strong technical mindset, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to identify root causes and implement solutions. Conduct installations of new, specialized, or additional mechanical equipment as required by production or field demands. Ensure accurate, timely completion of work orders, maintenance logs, and service records in accordance with company tracking standards. Assist with identifying, sourcing, and ordering replacement parts, supplies, and specialized components to support ongoing repair needs and minimize downtime. Test and cycle repaired equipment to confirm operational readiness and compliance with both company and regulatory safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations. Adhere to all company safety, environmental, and operational policies. Collaborate closely with team members and management to identify opportunities for process improvements, and actively participate in preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Qualifications & Skills
1–5 years of proven mechanical experience. Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving abstract preferred. Proven ability to work independently and manage repair priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism under operational pressure. High attention to detail, accuracy in logging data, and a "safety-first" mentality. Recognized trade certification is considered a strong asset but is not explicitly required.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
This position involves active shop and yard work, requiring standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and safely lifting heavy mechanical components. Daily tasks require working around heavy industrial equipment and machinery in varying seasonal weather and yard conditions. Exposure to standard workshop elements including grease, oils, lubricants, solvents, and ambient industrial noise. Occasional overtime may be required during peak manufacturing cycles to support operational deadlines.
