GIS Analyst - Data & Flight Operations
The purpose of this position is to support the overall operations; from onboarding new sales orders to cloud-based data processing and delivery. Additionally, to support the operational requirements of flight operations and other departments during seasonal changes in business operations. This is a full-time position based in Halifax, NS.
Start Date: July 20, 2026 (or sooner)
Successful applicants will have the following education and experience: Experience working in a team environment Analytical, results-oriented, and ability to work independently. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Academic and/or professional experience with GIS systems and software (E.g. QGIS, ArcGIS). Post-Secondary degree from a recognized educational institution.
Responsibilities of the GIS Analyst - Data & Flight Operations: Onboard client shapefiles and prepare orders for processing and flight planning. Support FlightOps with post flight data image selection and uploading to the cloud. Complete image quality assurance before processing. Support image processing in the rapid turnover of high-quality data products for our clients. Troubleshooting issues with client data and resolving them internally in a time-effective manner. Support the end-to-end image processing pipeline including workflow and personnel assignments for all full-time team members, seasonal team members, and 3 rd party partners. Maintain company expectations for all commercial data deliveries as they relate to VineView standard service levels for: delivery times, quality, and productivity. Act as interim team leader when Data Analytics team leader is absent. Communicate with FlightOps to ensure timely uploads and flight schedules aligned with client requests. Communicate with remote sensing, software, and R&D teams to address production problems. - Provide client support and technical training in relation to GIS products and VineView software and respond to client inquiries in a timely manner. Identify and implement improvements to data analysis processes. Support the implementation of the Quality Management System and the development and introduction of new data products and services. Assist with the development of new geospatial products from multispectral imagery. Support other VineView teams, as required (e.g. sales, marketing, R&D, software, etc.). Other related duties, as required.
