Machine Operator, Level 1 – Afternoon Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) *shift premium

Are you mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and looking to grow in a fast-paced production environment? Big Country Pet Co. is seeking Machine Operators to join our team on the afternoon shift, where you’ll play a key role in packaging high-quality pet products.

Your Role: As a Machine Operator, you’ll be responsible for the setup, operation, and minor troubleshooting of packaging machinery. Depending on your experience and training, you may be assigned to:

• Level I Operators: JDA, Paxium, cup line, and carton line

You’ll also provide backup coverage across machines and ensure accurate documentation and compliance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate packaging equipment efficiently and safely
• Conduct pre-op inspections and follow production schedules
• Monitor machinery and report issues promptly
• Perform weight checks, lot tracking, and replace packaging materials
• Maintain cleanliness and follow sanitation protocols
• Complete all required paperwork and reporting accurately

What You Bring:

• Experience in food handling or production machinery (an asset)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Training Provided In:

• GMPs, HACCP, Food Defense, Pest Control
• Equipment operation and sanitation procedures
• Metal detection and weight verification
