Nviro is seeking a Field Service Technician to support the delivery, installation, operation, and maintenance of water and wastewater systems. This is a hybrid, field-based role combining hands-on system work with commercial driving responsibilities, including transporting equipment, liquids, and materials to job sites. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and experienced in field operations. You take pride in reliable, high-quality work and thrive in fast-paced, real-world environments.
Field Operations & System Support
Operate, monitor, and maintain water and wastewater treatment systems (filtration, lift stations, chemical feed systems, etc.) Support installation, startup, testing, and commissioning of treatment systems Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, and instrumentation Troubleshoot system issues and complete field repairs Maintain accurate operational logs, service reports, and compliance documentation
Driving & Equipment Transport
Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles (tanker + hazmat) Transport treatment systems, tanks, chemicals, and equipment to job sites Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain DOT-compliant logs Ensure proper handling, labeling, and transport of hazardous materials
Equipment & Material Handling
Operate vacuum truck for hydro-excavation, sludge removal, and tank cleaning Load, unload, and set up modular treatment systems Safely handle chemicals and materials in accordance with safety protocols
Safety & Team Collaboration
Follow all company, DOT, OSHA, and regulatory safety requirements Participate in safety training (confined space, trench safety, etc.) Collaborate with operations, fabrication, and engineering teams to execute field work Valid California Class A or B CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift 50 lbs regularly Clean driving record Willingness to travel regionally and stay overnight as needed
Preferred
D2 Water Distribution and/or T1 Water Treatment certifications (or willingness to obtain) 5+ years of experience in water/wastewater operations, service, or construction Experience operating vacuum trucks or similar equipment OSHA 10 certification and confined space/trench safety training
Physical & Work Requirements
Frequent bending, climbing, and work in industrial environments Ability to safely operate tools and equipment (manual dexterity) Sensory awareness (vision, hearing, smell) for safe field operations
Work Schedule
Full-time, on-site role 4/10 schedule: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (typically Monday–Thursday) Includes occasional travel, overnight work, on-call duty, and overtime as needed Our Values

The anticipated compensation range for this role is $33 – $43 an hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
