Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units. Estimate materials, tools and equipment required for projects . Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing. Construct and install prefabricated masonry units. Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Bricklayer Trade Certification. Bricklayer Red Seal Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Own vehicle.
