Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

Staff Connectivity Systems Engineer

As a connectivity systems engineer, you'll define and develop the technologies that underlie the next generation of our products. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in system-level simulations of 100+Gbps/lane electrical and optical links using Matlab, Python and/or other programming languages. They'll also be able to correlate lab measurements with a system model and improve link performance in the lab. You'll work directly on solutions that scale with our customers' emerging demands for AI and infrastructure computing and networking. Together with other members of our engineering groups, you'll develop complete optical and electrical connectivity solutions, including designs in the world's most advanced CMOS technology nodes.

What You'll Do

Perform numerical and analytical modelling and simulation of next-generation electrical and optical links, delivering speeds beyond current 200Gbps/lane standards Use, enhance, and develop simulation platforms for architectural exploration of new approaches Derive specifications for components, circuits, and signal processing features in future products Provide input to our senior leadership, product marketing, and engineering teams on the expected performance and required features of next-generation solutions Engage and collaborate with other members of the engineering team to turn your ideas into prototypes Prepare and present analysis internally to marketing and engineering teams and externally to partners, customers, and standards bodies

What You'll Need

Master's or PhD degree with 5 years' relevant experience Experience with and a strong mathematical understanding of the analytical and numerical modelling of system-level electrical and optical communication systems and components at 100+Gbps Experience interpreting and incorporating measurements of electronic interconnects, amplifiers, and components such as the S parameters, jitter, and SNDR into system-level models Programming experience in Matlab and/or Python including using AI automation to accelerate development

Pay Range And Other Compensation & Benefits

$110,500.00 - $160,500.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
