Requirements: The Resource must have the following minimum qualifications or experience:

Experience · 5+ years in enterprise network administration · Proven experience in large, multi-site or hybrid environments · Experience working within MSP-integrated delivery models

Technical Skills Core Networking · Strong expertise in: o TCP/IP, routing (BGP, OSPF), switching (VLANs, STP) o WAN technologies and MPLS environments · Deep understanding of high availability and redundancy design · Cisco edge switching

Cloud Connectivity · Hands-on experience with: o Azure networking o ExpressRoute (configuration, troubleshooting) o Hybrid network design

Firewalls & Security · Experience with: o Cisco firewalls o Checkpoint firewalls o Proxy solutions (Bluecoat or equivalent)

Application Delivery · Hands-on experience with: o Citrix Netscaler / ADC (load balancing, SSL, traffic management)

Role Description Manitoba is seeking a Network Administrator to provide advanced administration and operational support for enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, cloud connectivity (Azure/AVS via ExpressRoute), data centre networking, and security platforms, ensuring secure, highly available, and performance-optimized network services. This role is responsible for the operational administration, vendor coordination and oversight and optimization of network infrastructure and does not include architectural authority or enterprise policy ownership

Core Responsibilities

1. Enterprise Network Operations (LAN / WAN / Data Centre) · Work with Managed Service Providers to administer and support: o LAN (core/distribution/access switching) o WAN connectivity (MPLS, internet, edge routing) o Data centre networking environments · Monitor availability, capacity, and performance; take proactive action to prevent service degradation · Perform incident, problem, and change management for network services

2. Cloud Network Integration (Critical for your model) · Support Azure and AVS networking, including: o ExpressRoute configuration and troubleshooting o Hybrid connectivity between: § On-prem data centres § AVS private cloud § Azure native services · Ensure consistent routing, segmentation, and security across environments

3. Network Infrastructure Lifecycle & Refresh · Support network infrastructure refresh programs, including: o Switch and router upgrades o Firewall lifecycle management o Wi-Fi infrastructure refresh · Validate configurations, ensure high availability, and support migration cutovers · Maintain alignment to enterprise standards and architecture

4. Network Security & Perimeter Services · Work with Managed Service Providers to administer and support: o Cisco and Checkpoint firewalls o Bluecoat proxy solutions o Network access control and segmentation · Implement firewall rule changes with impact assessment · Support vulnerability remediation and security compliance activities

5. Application Delivery & Load Balancing · Work with Managed Service Providers to administer: o Citrix Netscaler (ADC/load balancing) · Support application traffic management, SSL offload, and availability optimization

6. Enterprise WiFi (Campus & Workplace) · Work with Managed Service Providers to manage Aruba / HPE wireless infrastructure: o Controllers, access points, authentication · Ensure high performance and coverage across workplace environments · Support onboarding and troubleshooting for enterprise wireless services

7. AI Data Centre Support (Important Differentiator) · Support networking for high-performance compute environments: o Low latency, high throughput networking o GPU cluster connectivity (if applicable) · Work with infrastructure teams to ensure network supports AI/analytics workloads

8. Monitoring, Logging & Optimization · Knowledge of network monitoring tools to: o Identify performance bottlenecks o Analyze traffic patterns · Ensure centralized logging and observability for network devices

9. MSP & Vendor Coordination · Work with Managed Service Providers: o Validate work performed o Provide technical oversight o Ensure adherence to standards and SLAs · Participate in change planning and service integration

10. Documentation & Governance · Maintain network diagrams, configurations, and operational runbooks · Participate in change advisory boards and governance processes · Ensure compliance with enterprise security and operational standards
