About the role
Join Us at Carey — A Place of Renewal, Rigor, and Conviction
Situated on the beautiful UBC campus in Vancouver, Carey has served students, churches, and Christian leaders for over six decades. Today, Carey is entering a focused and ambitious season of renewal—strengthening its mission, rebuilding its operations, and establishing a resilient platform for long-term growth across education, hospitality, and community life.
Carey operates as an integrated organization across three mission-aligned business units:
- Carey Seminary — a biblically faithful, historically Protestant seminary with global reach
- Carey Residences — forming intentional Christian community through housing, hospitality, and shared life
- Carey Lodge — a short-term accommodations operation supporting Carey’s campus, guests, and financial sustainability
This is not a traditional institutional environment. Carey is rebuilding with the clarity, urgency, and adaptability of a startup, while remaining grounded in theological conviction and institutional integrity. We are restoring trust, strengthening systems, and laying foundations for sustainable growth across all three business units.
We are looking for those who are battle-tested—both professionally and personally. People who do not drift when things are unclear, who can hold conviction under pressure, and who are energized by the hard, often unseen work of rebuilding systems, processes, and culture. This is a place for builders, not maintainers.
Roles at Carey are not static. They are designed for those who can bring order to complexity, steward responsibility faithfully, and build systems that support both formation and operational excellence.
Position Summary
The Content Producer & Media Lead serves as the operational backbone of Carey’s content engine and public-facing media ecosystem.
This role is responsible for transforming theological insight, faculty scholarship, institutional thought leadership, and strategic storytelling into high-quality digital media distributed across multiple platforms. Working at the intersection of production, distribution, audience development, and institutional growth, the role helps build Carey’s long-term audience ecosystem while strengthening recruitment, engagement, and institutional visibility.
This is not a traditional communications role. Carey is building a modern, content-led growth engine designed around trusted theological voices, high-quality production, audience ownership, and long-term institutional credibility. The Content Producer & Media Lead will help operationalize this vision by building repeatable media workflows, supporting faculty-driven content creation, and overseeing multi-platform distribution across podcast, video, blog, email, social, and web channels.
The role additionally supports the operational expression of Carey’s institutional voice and strategic narrative across digital media platforms, helping ensure consistency between content production, theological positioning, and public-facing institutional identity.
The successful candidate will combine technical production capability with strong operational discipline and audience awareness. This role requires someone equally comfortable managing cameras, lighting, audio, editing, publishing workflows, and content systems while also understanding how digital content builds trust, audience loyalty, and institutional momentum over time.
This role additionally supervises social media execution functions and works closely with recruitment, growth marketing, advancement, academic leadership, and digital systems functions to ensure Carey’s media ecosystem operates as an integrated institutional growth platform.
