MPE is hiring! We are seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Saskatoon Office, as a successful candidate you will be working experienced engineers and collaborate with different teams on exciting projects.

Your Contribution:

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead and support the development of junior team members through mentorship and guidance;
  • Organize, plan, and carry out geotechnical field investigations;
  • Complete geotechnical calculations and analyses across a variety of project types;
  • Conduct geohazard assessments and develop appropriate engineering designs;
  • Perform analysis and design work related to earthen dam structures municipal and commercial infrastructures;
  • Install, monitor, and interpret data from geotechnical instrumentation;
  • Carry out construction inspections related to foundations, earthworks, and similar activities;
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports;
  • Communicate project progress to project managers;
  • Contribute to proposal preparation and support business development efforts.

Your Profile:

What makes you unique

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering;
  • Eligibility for registration with APEGS;
  • A master’s degree is considered an advantage, but is not mandatory;
  • Approximately 5 or more years of applicable professional experience;
  • Experience in water structure design or foundation analysis and design would be an advantage;
  • Experience coordinating geotechnical investigations is considered an asset;
  • Strong self-starter with effective written and verbal communication abilities;
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities;
  • Capable of working independently with limited supervision;
  • Familiarity with geohazard assessments and/or dam projects is an asset;
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work in remote locations under varying weather conditions, when required;
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
