We’re seeking a Senior Engineer to support and lead mine water management planning and detailed design projects. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who can independently deliver design work, contribute meaningfully to mine planning initiatives, and provide guidance and technical review to junior staff while working closely with other senior technical leads. You will play a key role in developing practical, defensible water management solutions that support mine operations, expansion, and closure. The position offers increasing responsibility in technical leadership, client interaction, and project delivery within our Mine Water Management sector. What You’ll Do Project Management & Client Leadership Serve as Project Manager for mine water management planning and design projects. Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and resourcing. Act as primary client contact and lead technical meetings and discussions. Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality, integration, and timely delivery of work. Conduct technical review and provide guidance to junior and intermediate staff. Detailed Design & Technical Delivery Lead detailed design of water management infrastructure, including diversions, conveyance systems, storage facilities, pumping systems, and related civil works. Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. Ensure designs are practical, constructible, and aligned with operational requirements. Provide technical direction and review of work completed by junior and intermediate staff. Construction Support Provide engineering support during construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting field reviews as required. Water Management Planning Lead development of mine water management plans for operations, expansions, and closure. Evaluate infrastructure alternatives and support integration of water management systems into mine plans. Support permitting and regulatory processes with clear, defensible engineering rationale. Familiarity with modeling software (GoldSim, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, HY-8) is desirable but not required. What You’ll Bring A positive and motivated personality! Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mining Engineering (or related field). Professional Designation with EGBC or APEGA. 15+ years of relevant experience in mine water management infrastructure planning and design. Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects, including scope, budget, and schedule accountability. Strong experience delivering detailed design of mine water management infrastructure. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and be able to work with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment. A desire to learn new skills and an eagerness to grow within your role. A valid driver’s license (in good standing) is mandatory. Must be physically able to conduct field visits commensurate with project work. This may include handling and operation of equipment, travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, and outdoor site visits in all weather conditions on uneven/varying ground terrain.
