Project Context The Power Systems Engineer will work on electrical power systems, focusing on designing and analyzing electricity flow through generation, transmission, and distribution networks. This role involves creating models and simulations to predict system behavior, optimize performance, and ensure stability. The engineer will also validate models to confirm their accuracy in representing real-world system behavior, primarily within an R&D/validation lab environment before deployment to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze electrical power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
• Develop models and simulations to predict system behavior, optimize performance, and ensure stability.
• Validate models to confirm their accuracy in representing real-world conditions.
• Work primarily in an R&D/validation lab, developing and validating models before customer deployment.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in the utilities sector (energy generation, transmission, or distribution).
• Proficiency with at least one of the following tools:
• Power System Studio
• SIDEX / PSS
• Mathcad
• MATLAB
• ASPEN
• CAPE
• SKM
• CDEGS
• WinIGS
• ETAP
• (or similar tools in the power systems domain)
