Position: Commercial Roofing Estimator Location: Ottawa Posting Type: Open vacancy

Our client, a well-established and growing player in the commercial roofing industry, is currently looking to add a Commercial Roofing Estimator to their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned estimator who enjoys balancing office-based work with on-site project involvement.

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering accurate, competitive bids while collaborating closely with internal teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Visit job sites to take precise measurements and assess roofing conditions, materials, and project requirements
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate estimates
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
• Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals within deadlines
• Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients to clarify project scope and requirements
• Source and obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and industry standards
• Support contract negotiations and assist in project handoff to operations upon award
• Track and manage bid documentation and estimation records

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial roofing estimating
• Strong understanding of roofing systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Proven experience conducting site visits and taking field measurements
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as required
