Description:
As a Carpenter , you will perform a wide variety of journeyperson level carpentry duties associated with maintaining, renovating, repairing and construction in accordance with building codes, blueprints and standards and practices. As a Carpenter, you will perform work related to the design, construction and repair of building structures, furniture and fixtures. In addition, you will perform preventative maintenance duties on structures and fixtures. You will be responsible for selecting and ordering appropriate supplies and materials as required.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Carpenter Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 education required. Intermediate technical/professional experience (i.e. 3-5 years) required. Minimum of 5 years varied carpentry experience. Hospital carpentry experience would be an asset. Good knowledge of blueprint reading and ability to prepare simple drawings for the construction of new cupboards, counters, etc. Experience in specialty hardware and commercial building systems, cabinet work, ceiling systems and dry wall. Experience with door hardware required. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be alert accurate, reliable, must be capable of working independently and possess good judgment and initiative. Must be able to lift 22kg(50LBS). Must be able to be N95/Half mask fit tested.
